Yogyakarta, Host of 15th IADI APRC Annual Meeting

Yogyakarta, 15 July 2017. Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (IDIC) is the host of 15th IADI APRC Annual Meeting, Regional Workshop, and International Conference in Yogyakarta, 17-20 July 2017. The event was attended by 70 delegation from 30 countries, and 300 participants from both dometic and overseas, with theme “Enhancing the DIC Roles through Resolution Activities”.

International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) is a non-profit organization constituted under Swiss Law and is domiciled at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland. IADI was formed in May 2002 to enhance the effectiveness of deposit insurance systems by promoting guidance an international corporation. IADI currently represents 83 deposit insurers from 77 jurisdictions. IDIC has been an active member of IDIC since 2005.

The topic about deposit insurance transformation will become one of the main topics discussed in the Yogyakarta meeting, which has two venues: Hyatt Regency Hotel and The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center.

The IADI APRC International Conference is held on Wednesday, 19 July 2017, at The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Centre, opened to public through registration webpage www.lps.go.id/aprc-2017-dom. Key speakers on the event are Ms. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Halim Alamsyah, Chairman of IDIC, Mr. Hiroyuki Obata, Chairperson of APRC, and other foreign and domestic speakers.

 

About IDIC

IDIC is an independent agency formed based on Law No. 24 of 2004 with main functions to insure depositors’ deposits and to perform failed bank resolution.

IDIC total assets as of April 2017 reached IDR79.3 trillion, grew 8.68% compared to the previous year of IDR73 trillion.IDIC assets are mainly in the form of state securities investment (96.2%) of around IDR76.3 trillion. 

Since its operation in 2005 to May 2017, IDIC has processed claim management from 79 failed banks, which 76 of them has finished their reconciliation and verification process. From the 79 failed banks, total eligible deposits reached IDR1.2 trillion.
