IDIC occasionally sponsors seminars, public discussions, workshops and other events in line its role in fostering Indonesia's economic development, particularly within the areas of banking. One such event that IDIC recently sponsored is a public discussion entitled, "The Readiness of Banks in Implementing the Single Presence Policy as well as its Impact on Indonesia's Economy", which was organized by the Jakarta Chapter of the Association of Indonesian Economic Graduates (Ikatan Sarjana Ekonomi Indonesia or ISEI) and held on the 29th of November 2007 at the Hotel Sahid Jakarta. The public discussion was attended by 250 participants that comprised of bankers, professionals, academics, and officials from ISEI and was opened by Rudjito, the Chairman of ISEI's Jakarta Chapter who is also the Chairman of Board of Commissioners at IDIC. One of the highlights of the event was a Keynote Speech presented by Dr. Muliaman D. Hadad, the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and concurrent member of the Board of Commissioners at IDIC. The topics or themes presented in the discussions includes, "The Direction of the Single Presence Policy and its Implementation" which was presented by Agus E. Siregar (DPNP Directorate of Bank Indonesia), "The Economic Impact to Indonesia of Implementing the Single Presence Policy on Banks", which was presented by Dr. Iman Sugema (the Director of InterCAFE IPB), and,  "The Legal Aspects of Implementing the Single Presence Policy", which was presented by Anika Faisal (Legal and Compliance Director of Bank Danamon and member of PERBANAS) and Djoko Retnadi (from Bank BRI) who served as the moderator throughout the discussions.
